Partners Personnel is seeking candidates for a General Labor - Tarper position within the transportation and flatbed freight industry in South Windsor, CT. This role supports the loading and securement process of flatbed materials, including assisting with tarping, strapping, and preparing freight for safe transport. This is a long-term, full-time opportunity with strong potential for direct hire, so don't delay and call today.

Tarper / Flatbed Securement Helper
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Shifts:
1st
Shift: 5:00am - 2:30pm
2nd
Shift: 2:00pm - 11:30pm
Schedule:
Monday through Friday

Responsibilities
* Secure, tarp, and strap freight on flatbed trailers following company and DOT safety standards
* Physically covering and uncovering loads with tarps, assisting with strapping building materials, and ensuring all freight is prepared safely for transportation
* Assist with loading, staging, and organizing freight materials
* Strap, bind, and secure building materials such as piping, plywood, and various construction products
* Inspect tarps, straps, bungees, and equipment for wear or damage
* Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas around loading and staging zones
* Follow all site safety procedures, including required PPE at all times
* Communicate with drivers, yard leads, and warehouse staff to support efficient workflow
* Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing long periods when securing tarps
Requirements
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and stand for prolonged periods
* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, rain, cold, and snow
* Comfortable working in the elements and performing labor-intensive tasks
* Previous experience in warehousing, construction, outdoor labor, or flatbed tarping preferred but not required
