Sila Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electric is seeking a Commercial Refrigeration Technician to service light commercial customers. In this field role, you'll install, maintain, and repair reach-ins, walk-ins, and other refrigeration equipment, ensuring safe, efficient operation. You'll diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues, complete preventative maintenance, and document all work thoroughly. Responsibilities
- Install, diagnose, and repair commercial refrigeration systems, walk-ins, and reach-ins for light commercial customers
- Perform preventive maintenance, system tune-ups, and component replacements to ensure efficient, reliable operation
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues using gauges, meters, and diagnostic tools
- Charge systems, recover refrigerant, and follow EPA and company standards for safe handling of refrigerants
- Document work performed, parts used, and recommendations in service software with clear, accurate notes
- Communicate professionally with customers, explain findings, and provide options for repair or replacement
- Collaborate with dispatch and team members to prioritize calls and ensure timely completion of work orders
- Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company policies while working on customer sites
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current on equipment, controls, and energy-efficient technologies
- Assist with on-call rotation to support 24/7 emergency service coverage as needed
