Hours, Pay & Benefits

* Full-time: 174 hours per month
* Sleep-ins: 23:00 – 07:00
* 3‑week rolling rota
Pay
* £12.40 – £12.59 per hour
* £71.28 per sleep‑in

The Role
As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will be part of a caring, skilled team providing day-to‑day support to children and young people. You will create a homely, nurturing environment where they feel safe, valued, and able to grow.
You will:
-Provide daily care, emotional support, and positive role modelling
-Build strong, trusting relationships with young people
-Support routines including meals, schoolwork, activities, and personal care
-Lead and participate in fun, meaningful activities and outings
-Encourage independence and development of life skills
-Follow care plans tailored to each child’s needs
-Maintain accurate records and share vital information
-Promote safeguarding, health, and safety at all times
-Support positive behaviour through understanding, patience, and guidance
-Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
-Take part in regular training and personal development

What We’re Looking For
You’ll be someone who is caring, resilient, patient, and passionate about helping young people thrive.
Essential:
-Working towards NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willing to complete within 2 years)
-Experience working with children or young people (ideally in a care setting)
-A strong understanding of child development and trauma-informed practice
-Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
-Good communication and teamwork skills
-Flexibility to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays
-Basic knowledge of safeguarding
-A UK driving licence (for certain roles)
Desirable:
-NVQ Level 3 already achieved
