Rock City is looking for an enthusiastic and approachable Assistant Bar Manager to join our venue management team.

This is a key frontline leadership role within one of Nottingham's busiest live music and events venues. You'll support the smooth running of our bar operations across a wide range of events, helping to deliver fast, efficient and excellent service to our customers while leading and developing our bar teams.

As Assistant Bar Manager, you'll act as a key point of contact for Bar Staff and Senior Bar Staff, supporting their development, wellbeing and performance. You'll work closely with the Venue Management team to uphold high service standards, promote a positive team culture and ensure our bars operate confidently and consistently during busy events.

We're looking for someone with experience in a high-volume hospitality, bar or events environment, who enjoys motivating and supporting others. You'll be confident working under pressure, able to lead by example and passionate about delivering great customer experiences.

The role will involve evening, weekend and bank holiday work in line with the venue's event schedule, so flexibility is essential.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of bar operations during events
  • Leading, coaching and motivating Bar Staff and Senior Bar Staff
  • Championing excellent customer service and high bar standards
  • Supporting inductions, training and staff development
  • Acting as an approachable point of contact for team members
  • Helping to build a positive, engaged and professional team culture
We're looking for someone who has:
  • Experience in a busy hospitality, bar or live events environment
  • Experience leading, supervising or supporting teams
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • A positive, professional and approachable leadership style
  • The ability to stay calm and focused under pressure
  • A genuine passion for customer service and developing people

At Rock City, no two events are the same. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take the next step in events and operational management while being part of a fast-paced, energetic and iconic live events venue.

Rock City is part of the DHP Family. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
