A secondary school in Nottingham is seeking a reliable Science Technician to join their Science Department on a temporary basis. Working through Hays Education, you'll play a key role in preparing resources and supporting practical science teaching across all key disciplines.

Key Duties:

Prepare and set up equipment for science lessons and practical activities.
Support teachers with experiments and demonstrations.
Maintain, clean and test laboratory equipment.
Monitor and replenish science stock and resources.
Ensure laboratories remain safe and compliant.
Store and dispose of chemicals in line with procedures.
Assist with risk assessments and departmental records.
Provide general administrative support to the Science Department.

Requirements:

Previous Science Technician or laboratory experience desirable.
Science-related qualifications beneficial.
Understanding of laboratory health and safety practices.
Strong organisation and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
