Vehicle Maintenance Technician – Nottingham Vehicle Maintenance Unit

Working hours: 40 per week.
Working pattern: Rotating shifts

Week 1: 06:00-14:30 Mon-Fri
Week 2: 12:30-21:00 Mon-Fri
Flexible hours may be considered for the right candidate.

Salary: Base pay £21.70 per hour. Premium paid for hours worked between 7pm-10pm (£2.23 per hour), and 10pm-6am (£2.70 per hour).

• Perform service and repair of company fleet in line with planned maintenance schedules to ensure our vehicles and trailers are safe, legal and fit for duties.
• Complete signed service and inspection records.
• Complete defect reports and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements.
• Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure first‑time pass.
• Perform ad‑hoc vehicle repairs, investigate and rectify vehicle defects.

• LGV C&E license (class one) or equivalent vocational training.
• Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment.
• Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy vehicle components.
• Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driving license.
