Solar Technician / NVQ Level 3 Electrician

About the Role

A leading renewable energy business is looking to recruit a qualified Electrician to join its Solar PV Operations and Maintenance team.

Previous solar experience is not required. The role would suit an NVQ Level 3 qualified Electrician from an industrial, commercial, manufacturing, utilities or electrical maintenance background looking to move into renewable energy.

The successful candidate will carry out planned maintenance, electrical inspections, fault finding, testing and repairs across AC and DC systems on utility scale Solar PV sites.

There is also an opportunity to begin HV Authorised Person training within the first 2 months of employment.

Requirements

* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.

* AM2 qualification.

* Current BS 7671 18th Edition qualification.

* Strong electrical fault finding and testing ability.

* Industrial, commercial, utilities or electrical maintenance experience.

* Good understanding of electrical safety and safe systems of work.

* Solar PV experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

* Inspection and Testing qualification would be advantageous.

* ECS or JIB Gold Card would be advantageous.

* Willingness to work outdoors and travel between regional sites.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

Package

* Salary of £42,000.

* Company supported Solar PV training.

* Opportunity to begin HV Authorised Person training within the first 2 months.

 * £75 on call payment for Saturday and Sunday.

 * £150 on call payment for Bank Holidays.

* Saturday and Sunday callouts paid at time and a half, door to door.

* Bank Holiday callouts paid at double time, door to door.

* Additional Monday to Friday overtime available
