West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) is seeking passionate, equity‑driven General Education Teachers to join our team across elementary, middle, and high schools. This is a generic pool posting for all subject areas and grade levels. Candidates may be contacted for openings district wide. General Education Teachers play a vital role in fostering academic growth, maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and supporting students’ social‑emotional development.
Teachers serve under the supervision of school site administrators.
- Instruction & Curriculum – Teach grade‑level content using district‑adopted curriculum across core subject areas. Elementary responsibilities include reading, language arts, mathematics, social science, science, art, PE, and music. Secondary responsibilities include one or more content subjects in grades 7–12.
- Develop Instructional Materials – Modify instruction to meet diverse learner needs and provide both individualized and group instruction to support academic and personal growth.
- Classroom Environment & Management – Establish procedures to maintain a safe, orderly, and productive classroom environment. Create a positive learning atmosphere that promotes engagement and growth.
- Assessment & Progress Monitoring – Evaluate pupil progress using multiple measures; maintain accurate records. Prepare reports, communicate with families, and participate in state and district assessments.
- Collaboration & Professional Duties – Participate in curriculum development, department or grade‑level teams, and district initiatives. Maintain professional competence through ongoing learning and professional growth.
- Perform reasonable non‑teaching duties as assigned.
