Interim FP&A Manager or Sr. FP&A Manager
Our client, a software development company, is seeking an Interim Finance Manager or Senior Manager to support a key finance transformation initiative.
This is a hybrid position, with on-site expectations three days per week. This engagement has an expected duration of 6 months, with the potential for extension.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary FP&A business partner for a designated business unit and in-development product title, delivering clear and actionable financial insights to operational leadership.
- Own and enhance full P&L models, restructuring and simplifying complex financial models to improve usability and alignment with operational drivers.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and rolling outlooks in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Deliver ad hoc and recurring decision-support analyses, including cost reviews, headcount planning, and short- to mid-term financial planning.
- Work within enterprise planning and ERP systems to understand tool interdependencies and support process improvements that streamline workflows.
- Identify, track, and analyze business-relevant KPIs; provide variance commentary and recommendations for next-step actions.
- Collaborate with teams across multiple geographic locations, operating effectively in a highly cross-functional, hybrid environment.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance business partnering, or similar business-facing finance roles.
- Strong hands-on financial modeling experience, including ownership of full P&Ls and the ability to simplify and improve existing models.
- Proven experience communicating financial insights clearly to non-finance partners, including comfort with candid conversations.
- Advanced Excel proficiency; familiarity with enterprise planning or ERP systems (e.g., Hyperion, Oracle-based tools, Adaptive, Anaplan, Planful).
- Ability to operate effectively in an interim, fast-moving environment with minimal ramp-up and high ambiguity.
