Job Description Overview
The Accounting Manager plays a key role in supporting the company’s monthly accounting close, cost accounting, internal and SEC reporting, and payroll processing. The ideal candidate is a seasoned accountant, who is highly analytical, an effective communicator, and a strong business partner.
Key Responsibilities- Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End Close and Reporting: Lead the month-end close process, which includes preparation and review of account reconciliations in Flo Qast and Net Suite ERP, supporting the annual audit and quarterly reviews, and assisting with SEC reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal management reporting.
- Cost Accounting: Partner with Finance and Operations teams to manage inventory costing and gross margin analysis, including allocation and capitalization of direct and indirect labor and overhead. Oversee costing of consigned inventory and outsourced manufacturing.
- Payroll: Support bi-weekly payroll processing and ad-hoc activities.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze financial and operational data to provide variance analysis, risks, and opportunities; deliver actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Internal Control: Improve and maintain internal control framework over financial reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, timely completion, and robust business processes. Assist with management testing of internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley 404.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with departments, such as Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, and Sales, to align financial objectives and support business decision-making.
- Tax and Government Reporting: Support income tax, sales tax, franchise tax, and other government reporting or regulatory compliance filings as needed.
- Reporting: Assist with SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
- Data Integrity: Ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency of financial data across systems and reports.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience, including month-end close, account reconciliations, audit support, and variance analyses.
- Experience in cost accounting strongly preferred.
- Experience at public company strongly preferred.
Background in public accounting and/or experience with SEC reporting strongly preferred. - Hands‑on experience with Net Suite, Flo Qast, and Workiva is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to partner effectively across functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, mission-driven environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimization and innovation.
Salary Range:
Base salary range of $125,000 – $150,000, plus bonus and equity.
