Maintenance Mechanic 2 (Graveyard Shift)

Maintenance Mechanic 2 (Graveyard Shift)
Job Summary:
This is a graveyard shift position, Sunday through Wednesday, 8:30 PM–7:00 AM. Responsible for the operation and preventive maintenance (per SOP requirements) of all purified system (RO, DI, WFI) and associated equipment, pure steam generators, plant steam utilities, process and manufacturing equipment.
- Make daily planned inspection of facilities equipment and services.
- Act as required.
- SME on at least one system or equipment (utility or process).
- Perform various projects including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical projects.
- Execute preventative maintenance and repair work orders.
- Perform preventive maintenance or repair work orders independently with little or no oversight.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records to maintain GMP and department procedure compliance.
- Revise Standard Operating Procedures when required.
- Start‑up new mechanical systems under the direction of a Sr. Mechanic.
- Perform troubleshooting, evaluation, and repair of utility and process systems.
- Maintain quality and integrity of preventive maintenance documentation using the CMMS system.
- Assist the Maintenance Planner or Scheduler on scope of work when required.
- Provide backup assistance for the Supervisor or lead mechanic when required.
- Other projects or tasks as assigned by supervisor or management.
- Maintain communication between each maintenance shifts via shift pass‑down updates.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Participate as a BERT team member.
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a highly regulated industry or GMP environment.
- 5+ years’ experience in biotech.
- Technical knowledge.
- Detailed attention to machinery maintenance.
- Adherence to strict quality standards.
- Thorough documentation.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High School Diploma or College degree (Associate’s/Bachelor’s), Technical Certification, military technical training, or equivalent experience or Journeyman skill level in a trade.
- Purified water systems (RO, DI, WFI) and associated equipment, pure steam generators, plant steam boilers, air compressors, vacuum systems, chillers, HVAC units and associated equipment, hot water, waste treatment and other miscellaneous equipment.
- Process equipment:
Autoclaves, Glassware washer, Bioreactors, Chromatography skids, Media and Buffer tanks, CIP skids, fermenters, Ultrafiltration, cold rooms, HTST system, Homogenizer, Centrifuges, heat tanks, cold rooms and other associated equipment.
