BSG is currently hiring a full‑time, Flex, Vehicle Patrol Security Officer in Marin County. Officers will perform extensive patrols by vehicle and foot in a professional manner for our commercial and residential properties, operating both independently and as part of a team. They conduct multiple, randomly timed stops during each patrol period to perform thorough checks of all assigned properties.
ScheduleThis is a Flex, full‑time position (30 hours per week minimum). Candidates must be available for all shifts—Morning, Swing, or Grave—with a minimum of 16 hours’ notice, as needed. Weekend availability is required.

Hourly Rate$29.00 per hour.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess a current California Guard Card License.
- A valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record for 3 years is required for Vehicle Patrol.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.
- Proficient in basic computer and smartphone usage.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to create accurate reports; additional language skills are a plus.
- Strong listening skills, patience, and compassion, especially when interacting with community members experiencing emotional or psychological challenges.
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations, think critically, de‑escalate conflicts, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to prioritize with strong time‑management skills.
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor in adherence to all laws, regulations, company policies, and confidentiality standards.
- Ensure compliance with both company and client policies and procedures while being open to performance improvement.
- Possess a clear understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols.
- At least one year of experience in security, mobile patrol, or event staff roles.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Desire to pursue a police academy, law enforcement, or criminal justice career encouraged.
- Permit for an exposed firearm is a plus.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
- Respond to triggered alarms, distress calls, or calls for service.
- Issue, log, and track parking violations; execute towing policies.
- Generate awareness among communities.
- Search properties for unwanted trespassers or suspicious persons.
- Report emergency incidents to first responder agencies.
- Investigate any potential safety issues or vandalism.
- Maintain a good working relationship with local law enforcement and first responder agencies while reporting emergency incidents.
