Currently, Staff Bright has an exciting opportunity with a global leader in manufacturing, for a Division Controller based in Novi, MI
. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity supporting a global business unit with operations spanning more than 30 locations across 13 countries. As the senior accounting leader for the division, you'll partner with executive leadership to drive financial excellence, strengthen internal controls, and ensure the integrity of financial reporting while helping shape the future of a growing, publicly traded organization.
You Will Be Doing
- Lead all divisional accounting activities and serve as the senior accounting leader for a global business unit.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX requirements, SEC reporting standards, and company accounting policies.
- Review and approve significant accounting transactions, reconciliations, reserves, accruals, and financial estimates.
- Partner with Corporate Accounting, Finance, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and external auditors on financial reporting and compliance initiatives.
- Drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and enhance reporting efficiencies across the division.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the divisional accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a trusted business partner to operational and executive leadership across a global organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- Experience with in a publicly traded company or large multinational organization.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting.
- Experience leading monthly close, accounting operations, and internal controls.
- Proven leadership experience developing and mentoring accounting teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with One Stream or HFM is a plus.
- Hybrid schedule (4 days onsite, 1 day remote).
