This role offers the chance to lead the accounting function within a manufacturing environment, support cross-border operations, and influence financial controls and reporting processes. The position is ideal for a bilingual accounting leader who can combine technical accounting expertise with Japanese language capability to support international stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including month-end and year-end close processes.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, payroll, utilities, and general ledger maintenance.
• Perform cash forecasting, treasury functions, budgeting support, and variance analysis of revenue and expenditures.
• Maintain fixed asset reconciliations, capital asset activity, debt activity, and trust account statement reconciliations.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies, laws, and regulations.
• Develop and improve accounting systems, procedures, and controls; recommend corrective actions to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Assign projects, direct accounting staff, and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting to management.

Must-Have Skills:

• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software and databases.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, standards, laws, and regulations.
• Ability to manipulate large datasets and produce accurate financial reports and reconciliations.
• Business working proficiency in Japanese and English (read, write, and basic conversation) to support cross-border communication.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and develop accounting staff.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in motor vehicle parts manufacturing or automotive supply chain accounting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Experience with cash forecasting models and treasury management in a multi-entity environment.
• Exposure to international accounting standards or multinational consolidation processes.
• Certifications such as CPA or equivalent accounting accreditation.
