What you’ll doBecome part of an iconic brand set to revolutionize the electric pickup truck and rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Collaborate with the engineering team to conceptualize and develop the range-extended electric vehicle platform, including chassis & drive train, battery pack, range extender, and key structural components.
- Partner with concept & systems architect teams to create 3D CAD packaging proposals addressing engineering and functional challenges.
- Critically review available technical systems and propose engineering improvements and/or enhanced customer experience.
- Develop the concept architecture and vehicle integration for the scalable platform.
- Collaborate in design and creating a 3D input for a simulation environment to test system architecture and concepts for other systems engineers to utilize.
- Create detailed design documentation, including 2D/3D drawings, specifications, and design guidelines for the platform.
- Create prototype architectures for physical and computer verification and stress testing.
- Role based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
- Role requires 4-5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Occasional in-person meetings and events with Scout colleagues as needed.

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in concept engineering, specifically with concept lead platforms/variants, module selection and modification in the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA V5, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, Solid Works, NX, and other design visualization tools. PLM experience is highly valued.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and JIRA.
- Familiarity with automotive safety standards and regulations (IIHS/NHTSA, SAE, and C/FMVSS).
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment.
- Minimum of High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.
