The selected candidate will be responsible for managing an application engineering team developing Thermal Management Modules Additionally this role oversees the Advanced refrigerant Systems team, which focuses on the next generation refrigerant technology for automotive thermal needs.
Primary Responsibilities- Oversees completion of all engineering deliverables in Hanon and customer phase-gate development processes
- Create and manage engineering statements of work (ESOWs) for purchased components
- Manage relationships and workflow with key internal functions (CAD, CAE, Test lab, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, and Prototyping)
- Facilitate design reviews and manage global and cross-functional input to product design
- Ensure completion of APQP tasks aligned with product development responsibilities
- Plan and manage prototype assembly supply supporting Hanon and customer development activity
- Manage cost center operations to goals, including budget proposals, spending, forecasts, and analysis
- Mentor and Conduct disciplined problem-solving on technical issues
- Interface with customers and obtain technical approval for Hanon designs
- Promote Hanon products in all venues and support new business pursuits
- Participate on Hanon’s global Core Engineering team for Thermal Management Modules
- Foster skill and career development; mentor employees, and manage performance to objectives
- 10+ years in thermal components and refrigerant systems engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Expertise in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, Structures, and Materials engineering
- Experience with heating and Refrigeration systems, battery thermal management systems operation and control
- Proficient in the design and manufacture of system components and assembly
- Skilled in 1D and computational fluid dynamics component and system analysis; finite element analysis and other modeling expertise refining structural design and performance
- Mastery of APQP disciplines such as FMA, DFMEA, DVP&R, PVP&R, and Control Plans
- Knowledge of AI and MBSE application principles
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Leading and mentoring internal and customer Technical Design Reviews
- Effective project planning, time management and mentoring skills
- Effective oral and written presentation skills; practitioner with Microsoft Office Suite of tools
- Demonstrated experience leading a global engineering organization and establishing future technology roadmaps.
