Product Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Designing and testing new mechanical / electrical automotive A/C compressors and sub-components.
• Develop and sign-off prototype/production 3D component & assembly models.
• Release prototype/production 2D component & assembly drawings.
• Develop/author engineering specifications and reports
• Set-up and run development test. Interpret test results and develop corrective actions.
• Interface with suppliers as required.
• Provide direction to suppliers as required.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials.
• Capable to effective communicate in a customer environment

• 5+ years of experience

• Bachelor or Masters in Mechanical Engineering is required

• Be able to innovate, and develop creative solutions for complex problems.
• Strong background in Thermodynamics, Dynamic Systems.
• Background in, Component design, Solid Mechanics, Kinematics, and Heat Transfer
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a global cross functional / cross discipline team.
• Experience working with suppliers and customers.
• Technical communication skills – reports and presentations
• Prior exposure to drafting/drawing/CAD tools.
• Experience with CAE tools (FEA, CFD, Kinematic tools)
• Self-motivated, self-starter
• Ability to work with limited guidance/supervision
