Job Summary
Controls Engineer II responsible for the electrical/controls portion of airport baggage security systems, including design of electrical and software elements, specification writing, control panel design, PLC programming, debugging, and commissioning.
Responsibilities- Design electrical/PLC control systems, including specifying work for others, naming electrical device, layout drawings, motor control panel drawings, and wiring schematics.
- Installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
- Perform control system and software changes; create and modify system specifications and operating procedures.
- Program, troubleshoot, and repair sensors, scanners, visualization systems, motors, frequency inverters, and encoders.
- Participate in testing and commissioning efforts at major airports.
- Support proposals and customer inquiries.
- Meet timelines to ensure projects stay on schedule and on budget.
- Time Management — managing one's own time and the time of others.

- Occasional extended hours, weekends, and holidays may be required to support customer service and change requests; travel to customer sites throughout the country is required.
- BSEE, E.T. or relevant technical degree, or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) years of industrial automation controls design and commissioning experience (preferred).
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC Control Logix programming (preferred).
- AutoCAD experience (preferred).
- Experience with material handling equipment (preferred).
Remain stationary for 50% of the time; traverse the office; operate computer; inspect documents; communicate through talking/hearing; read, identify, and assess forms and correspondence.
