Salary Range: $68,000 – $85,000 - Depending on Experience
About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our Estimating team and support the development of innovative robotic automation solutions. In this role, you will create proposal concepts, develop accurate cost estimates, and deliver customer-ready quotations for a wide range of robotic applications including MIG welding, spot welding, machine tending, and material handling systems.
This position is based strictly in Novi, MI
. While primarily on-site, it qualifies for our hybrid work policy
.
- Develop detailed quotations for robotic automation systems (MIG welding, spot welding, press tending, palletizing, machine tending, etc.)
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and formal proposal packages
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain pricing and technical specifications for ancillary equipment
- Incorporate reach studies, system layouts, time studies, and process sequencing into proposals
- Partner closely with Sales and Engineering to define and refine project scope
- Present and review proposals with internal teams and customers as required
- Conduct site visits to gather project data and align on customer requirements
- Develop project budgets based on cost estimates
- Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Review project kickoff packages and purchase orders for accuracy
- Apply general understanding of automation contract terms and conditions
- Utilize ERP systems to create, manage, and analyze cost data
- Associate degree in a business or technical field (Bachelor’s degree preferred) or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in costing, estimating, or proposal development
- Minimum 3 years of engineering-related experience or training
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical software, including AutoCAD
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, including GD&T
- Basic knowledge of controls systems
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Cost analysis and technical writing
- Customer relationship management
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 standards
Primarily office-based with occasional visits to customer or manufacturing facilities. Site visits may involve exposure to industrial equipment and environments.
