Mechanical Design Engineer – Enclosure & Structural Analysis

Locations :
Novi, MI

Duration : 12+ months contract role

Pay Range : $50 to $60/hr on W2

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with mechanical enclosure design and analysis
• Proficiency in Siemens NX and ANSYS tools
• Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with thermal and vibration analysis

Basic Requirements

• Engineering Degree (preferably BS in a STEM discipline to allow application across multiple roles within evergreen requisitions) with minimum 5 years of experience, OR MS in STEM with minimum 3 years of experience

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Perform component trade studies for new and existing hardware, create and review functional/physical interfaces, and generate analysis requirements for enclosures
• Collaborate with electronics engineering teams to develop enclosures that meet both electronic and mechanical requirements and guidelines
• Support creation of detailed drawings and model-based definitions; assist project/manufacturing teams to procure conforming hardware
• Lead Technical Reviews/Design Reviews and communicate solutions with project teams/customers, including developing technical presentations and technical reports
• Ensure compliance with applicable product certification requirements (e.g., RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810)
