Design Manager – Automotive, Industrial, Office, and Commercial Development Projects

NOVI or DETROIT AREA

This is a dynamic role that works directly with one of Arcadis’ high‑profile automotive programs. It requires a highly experienced Design Manager with deep project experience in leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering design efforts, particularly for automotive, industrial, office, and commercial developments in the Novi/Detroit, Michigan area. The role is client‑facing and will require regular travel to the client’s project site.

• Coordinating with internal and external architects, engineers, designers, consultants, and managers to align strategic objectives and progress.
• Spearheading strategic pursuits, creating winning delivery strategies, and developing fee projections to achieve financial targets while delivering the most advantageous delivery approach.
• Taking responsibility for financial and project management controls, enabling monitoring, modification, and forecasting as appropriate.
• Managing the acquisition, deployment, and optimization of resources for the project.
• Driving timely service delivery, including technical and commercial outcomes, and undertaking reviews to ensure delivery is above client expectations.
• Effectively implementing design delivery best practices, including risk and change management, project set‑up, and planning using internal and external digital technologies.
• Rapidly understanding specified project scopes and developing execution plans for a variety of Design and Engineering service deliveries.
• Delivering client presentations, preparing written reports, and communicating technical concepts around scope requirements and risk.

• 8 or more years of relevant design experience, leading or being part of large multidisciplinary design‑engineered solutions and construction projects.
• Experience with projects utilizing fundamental knowledge of Autodesk Platforms:
  Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or Building Information Modelling (BIM) engineered solutions.
• Obtain Certified Project Management (CPM) certification status within 30 days of hire (company provides training).
• BA in Architecture or Engineering‑related fields focused on the built environment.
• Preferred certifications include PE, RA, PMP.
• Practical sustainability experience; unique mechanical systems a plus.
• Experience in urban environments implementing transformative solutions.

Salary range: $107,281 – $145,000. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage;
