We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Detailer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed drawings and plans for structural steel fabrication and erection projects. This is a critical role within our organization, as accurate and detailed plans are essential to ensuring safe and efficient construction. Extensive experience with Tekla Structures or SDS/2 is required.
Job ResponsibilitiesProduce detailed shop and erection drawings based on engineering designs, including plans, sections, and elevations.
Develop accurate bills of materials for fabrication and procurement purposes.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure plans and specifications are accurate and meet project requirements.
Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify drawings.
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Attend project meetings and coordinate with other trades to resolve design and construction issues.
Education and ExperienceExperience:
3+ years of experience as a Structural Steel Detailer.
Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, SDS/2, and/or Autodesk Inventor.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Familiarity with industry standards and building codes.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize deadlines.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering, or related technical field preferred.
Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States
Must be able to reliably commute to Novi, MI on a consistent basis
