Sr Engineer, Brake System Development
At Scout Motors, you don't just design vehicles- you shape the future of the road. Our Engineering team is where bold ideas meet rigorous execution, building machines that are as durable and capable as the people who drive them. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with brilliant minds across disciplines, turning complex challenges into elegant, scalable solutions that meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and user experience.
This is a place where your fingerprints are found on metal – where what you design gets built, driven, and remembered. If you're hungry to engineer something that matters, Scout Motors is where that ambition finds its highest gear.
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Development: Engineer brake system components and subsystems, including brake calipers, rotors, hoses, lines, and actuation systems. Support the development, NVH, and validation of these components to meet performance, durability, and safety targets.
- Validation and Testing: Lead and support validation activities at both supplier and OEM levels, including component, subsystem, and vehicle testing. Define and execute DVP&R plans, ensuring alignment with program requirements and performance targets.
- Supplier Coordination: Interface with suppliers to define test requirements, review validation plans, and ensure components meet structural, performance, and durability requirements. Support supplier test execution and review data for compliance.
- Test Planning and Execution: Develop detailed test plans and procedures for brake components and systems, including bench, dynamometer, environmental, and vehicle-level testing. Coordinate testing activities and ensure timely completion of validation milestones.
- Data Analysis and Issue Resolution: Analyze test data to evaluate performance, identify root causes of issues, and drive corrective actions. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical concerns and improve product robustness.
- Technical Excellence: Uphold engineering excellence by ensuring robust validation methodologies and high-quality test execution. Contribute to continuous improvement of brake system performance and durability.
- Engineering Improvements: Critically review test results, validation strategies, and system performance, proposing improvements to designs, specifications, and validation approaches.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including vehicle dynamics, controls, manufacturing, quality, and supplier development, to ensure robust brake system performance.
- Solution Development: Partner with system architecture and design teams to resolve performance, durability, and integration challenges through data-driven solutions.
- Prototype and Serial Development: Support prototype builds and serial production readiness, including test execution, issue tracking, and validation sign-off.
- Additional Tasks: Participate in other related tasks and activities as required.
