Senior Application Engineer

Overview

• Develop a deep technical system understanding by investigating all relevant system approaches to evaluate benefits and drawbacks of different solutions.
• Provide support in electrical, thermal, and optical aspects of complete systems to customers and internal teams.
• Provide application support to existing customers and cultivate new relationships by developing design proposals, hardware mock‑ups, and technical material.
• Identify and develop innovative applications for ams OSRAM products, extracting and communicating key technical requirements from customers and market, and working closely with Product Management, R&D, and Product Development on new product designs.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop and execute product and application solution promotion plans, and provide technical product and application training.
• Promote ams OSRAM LED technologies through industry technical committees, conferences, events, and trade shows.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, optoelectronics, or physics.
• 5+ years of experience developing electronics systems or applications, preferably LED/laser/sensor‑based systems, with practical experience in product, module, or system evaluations.
• Strong understanding of basic semiconductor devices and their characteristics.
• Knowledge of thermal management concepts and photometry of optoelectronic devices is an asset.
• Experience with customer interfacing, presenting at conferences, and technical writing.
• Programming/microcontroller development experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑motivated and self‐dependent working style.
• Ability to travel (approximately 20‑30%).
