Engineer, IID Switches Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of IID switches from concept through production for automotive or industrial applications
• Create detailed CAD models, schematics, and engineering documentation for switch components and assemblies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, manufacturing, and quality to ensure design feasibility and performance
• Conduct simulations, tolerance analyses, and design reviews to meet reliability, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation, analyzing results and iterating designs as needed
• Drive root-cause analysis and implement design improvements for field and production issues
• Manage design change requests, BOM updates, and configuration control throughout the product lifecycle
• Coordinate with suppliers on component specifications, manufacturability, and cost optimization
• Ensure designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and internal quality guidelines
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and best practices
