Supports Manufacturing with Controls Engineering skills related to process control, tooling, assembly equipment, measuring/testing equipment, and purchasing of necessary equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Maintains Process FMEA, PLC Programs and Documentation
- Initiates process improvement efforts and supports quality improvement efforts
- Designs and troubleshoots control systems for tooling, fixtures, and workmanship aids
- Develops Engineering procedures and work instructions
- Develops, specifies and/or purchases machine control systems
- Must be physically present in the Team work-area during specified working hours, unless instructed otherwise by supervisor or TREMEC management.
- Support Quality, HR and Engineering as required to hire, develop, and launch manufacturing team(s).
- Ensure and enforce team members’ compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Promote continuous staff development:
- Identify the need for training within the department together with HR based on the gaps to the competency matrix.
- Develop individual training / development plans to each direct report.
- Promote establishing career plan for key personnel.
- Promote the culture of respect and application to organizational values.
- Other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Engineering Manager and other departmental Managers.
Professional Background / Basic Qualifications /
Work Experience:
- Two year degree in Electrical Engineering or similar required. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar preferred.
- Minimum of 1-5 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing or assembly which includes participating with manufacturing engineering teams.
- Lean Manufacturing and JIT production system implementation.
- Working level knowledge in AutoCAD, automation, test systems, machine controls and human/machine interface systems, IT infrastructure, MES, and maintenance management systems.
- Experience in industrial processes including VA/VE, New Model Launch, APQP, PFMEA and Control Plans, WHMIS, OHSA regulations, Pre-Start & Health & Safety reviews,
