Roadway Design Engineering Intern - Summer

Job Description Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Design Engineering Intern to join our Novi, MI office.

Your role:
Gathers, logs and summarizes field notes or other data to be used by technicians or professionals in technical studies or projects. Establishes and maintains records or files of technical data or documents. Performs mathematical calculations. Performs various routine tasks in Bentley Open Roads Designer. Assists in the preparation of graphic displays and presentation materials. Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

EXPERIENCE:

No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor's degree program.

Must have completed 50 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).

• Basic understanding of transportation engineering principles and design.
• Computation, math skills and drafting/CAD ability are generally required.
• Computer skills required to enter data and information in spreadsheets or databases.
• Preference to applicants who have CAD/Open Roads Designer experience.

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
