Novi, Michigan
The OpportunityThis role puts you in control of metal commodity purchasing across three plants — Cadillac, Michigan and two sites in Mexico — for a global automotive supplier. You'll own supplier negotiations for steel, aluminum, stamping, and forging, working directly with Quality, Logistics, Finance, and Projects to keep production running across the network.
This isn't a single-plant buying desk. You're managing supply continuity across borders, negotiating with leading automotive OEMs' supply base, and reporting into a Regional Purchasing Director who's counting on your read of the metals market.
Why You'll Love This RoleYou'll negotiate price, payment terms, and delivery conditions directly with suppliers — not just process what's already been decided. Your performance is measured against QCDP (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Performance), so the impact of your negotiating skill shows up in real numbers.
Novi is one of the strongest automotive hubs in the country, putting you close to the OEM and supplier ecosystem that makes this work interesting. And with responsibility spanning a US plant and two Mexico facilities, you'll build a purchasing skill set that goes well beyond a single site.
