About The Role

In this role, you will lead the Operational Procurement team, tasked with building a robust and resilient material supply through an active engagement with HARMAN’s suppliers. As a dynamic and visionary leader, you will fulfill multiple roles, including trail blazer, coach and advocate. As the Operational Procurement leader, you will be responsible for driving supplier delivery performance outcomes through supplier engagement and development as well as early detection and resolution of supply issues.

You will build system and team capabilities required to successfully navigate the challenges associated with electronics supply chains. Your operational mindset and exceptional leadership skills will be crucial in transforming HARMAN’s supply chain to meet the needs of an Automotive business on track to double our material supply requirements over the next 7 yrs.

Your Team

Your team consists of 50-60 team members with 5 to 6 direct reports. This position reports into the Senior Vice President, Procurement & BCA.

What You Will Do
  • Supply Coverage and Capacity Management:
    • Engage HARMAN’s supply base to achieve material supply requirements, working across a 2-year time horizon.
    • Confirm supply capacity commitments, including machine & tooling capacities.
    • Drive closure of supply coverage gaps. This includes active supplier engagement and facilitation of escalations as needed to achieve required outcomes.
    • Actively manage HARMAN’s supply agreements to the required contractual performance outcomes.
  • Supply Change and Exception Management:
    • Drive and close the following in coordination with HARMAN’s suppliers:
      • New product introduction (NPI)
      • End-of-life (EOL)
      • Part change notices (PCNs) and part termination notices (PTNs), including last time buys
      • OEM customer volume increases and decreases
    • Develop and implement efficient methods for identifying change driven exceptions that require active management into HARMAN’s supply base
  • Master Data Management:
    • Optimize existing methods and processes to ensure that HARMAN’s supplier relevant master data is continuously update and meeting the required quality
    • Develop and deploy automated methods to update and maintain supplier relevant master data, including the use of robotic process automation (RPA) and supplier system integration (e.g., API access)
  • Systems, Standards and Best Practices:
    • Pilot and deploy systems/technologies enabling efficient use of internal resources and establishing collaborative work with HARMAN’s suppliers.
    • Define and deploy KPIs that appropriately measure desired performance metrics and support the identification of performance gaps.
    • Refine and optimize work processes to set clear standards and ways of working with both HARMAN’s suppliers and internal partners.
  • Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration & Representation:
    • Build a robust collaboration with SIOP and Manufacturing teams, ensuring that the organizations are working in concert to meet operational objectives
    • Represent Procurement and HARMAN’s suppliers in the monthly consensus planning process
    • Represent Procurement in executive level escalations, including executives from suppliers and/or HARMAN’s customers
  • Develop Talent:
    • Lead the development and growth of a high-performing Operational Procurement team.
    • Provide coaching, mentorship, and training opportunities to enhance the capabilities of team members.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and innovation.
    • Develop an ownership culture with team members empowered to solve problems and make decisions.
What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or a relevant technical degree. Master's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant business experience in supplier facing roles. Supply Chain Management experience is desired.
  • Proven track record in leading and transforming functions to meet benchmark (top-quartile) performance levels.
  • Prior experience in leading teams tasked with the management of multi-billion dollar supply delivery from a global network of suppliers.
