GENERAL

SUMMARY:

Lead the delivery of exceptional, compassionate patient care in our ambulatory internal medicine setting. You'll be the clinical cornerstone of our team—coordinating care, guiding patients and families through their health journeys, and collaborating seamlessly with our healthcare team. Using your nursing expertise and clinical judgment, you'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans while mentoring team members and championing quality outcomes.

Whether working independently or partnering with our clinical leadership, you'll demonstrate the clinical excellence and communication skills that make a real difference in patients' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by conducting thorough assessments and developing evidence-based nursing care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs
• Lead and coordinate care delivery across the care team, delegating tasks effectively and supervising team members to ensure seamless patient experiences
• Build meaningful connections with patients and families through clear, compassionate communication—educating them about their health and empowering them to take an active role in their care
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care
• Maintain meticulous documentation and clinical records that reflect the quality and scope of care provided
• Stay current with clinical best practices and specialty-specific knowledge, continuously enhancing your expertise in internal medicine
• Support research initiatives and clinical investigations when appropriate, working collaboratively with principal investigators
• Demonstrate clinical competence and professional accountability in all patient interactions and care decisions

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation. Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel. Preferred experience in the specialty.

Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES

REQUIRED:

Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS per Henry Ford Health policy. Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard, i.e., Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
