Overview
Talent Fish is casting a line for a Laboratory Technician. This is an onsite long-term contract role in Novi, MI. The reason this position exists is to support increased testing demand by performing hands-on automotive testing, sample management, and laboratory analysis to ensure accurate, safe, and timely test results while working directly with customers.
What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (Chemistry, Biology, Laboratory Technology) or equivalent hands-on lab experience
- Hands-on experience using Excel for data entry, logging, and reporting
- Hands-on experience using a multimeter for testing (required)
- Previous laboratory technician or testing experience preferred
- Experience working with customers or external stakeholders
- Knowledge of laboratory testing methods, equipment operation, and safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures
- Ability to accurately document and report test results
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and on a team
- Willingness to stay current on lab technologies and testing best practices
- Ability to work in a primarily seated role performing hands-on testing
- Receive, label, handle, and safely store samples according to protocols
- Perform hands-on automotive testing using multimeters and lab equipment
- Determine appropriate tests and conduct accurate analysis per procedures
- Document results clearly and maintain organized testing records
- Communicate test results and answer questions from internal teams and customers
- Maintain lab equipment including cleaning, calibration, and basic upkeep
- Maintain daily logs and records of testing activities and equipment usage
- Follow all safety guidelines and compliance requirements
- Continuously improve testing accuracy by learning new methods and tools
The expected salary range for this position is $15 - $19 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. Talent Fish is committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
