EHS Specialist II
HL Mando America Corporation has an opening for the position of EHS Specialist II.
Work Location:
29930 Hudson Dr., Novi, MI 48377 (80% of the time). 5230 S. Carter Rd., Auburn, MI 48611 (20% of the time).
Job Duties:
- Report to HR Manager regarding environmental, health and safety (EHS) related concerns.
- Assist with internal and external ISO audits, ensuring required documentation and processes are maintained.
- Coordinate and deliver environmental, health, and safety training programs for two Michigan locations and submit training records and reports to corporate headquarters.
- Evaluate organizational environmental, health, and safety risks and recommend corrective or preventive actions to support compliance and workplace safety.
- Respond promptly to workplace incidents and accidents, conducting thorough investigations and documenting findings, root causes, and corrective actions.
- Provide direction to Senior Management concerning EHS compliance.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory actions as those items impact the regulatory compliance of the corporation.
- Maintain progressive and proactive Safety programs to provide short and long-range health and welfare protection of the employees.
- Maintain a highly effective orientation program that emphasizes the critical importance and value of following all policies and working safely to protect ones self and others.
- Foster a workplace environment consistent with the values and mission outlined by the leadership of company.
- Maintain current knowledge of state and federal and local laws and regulations.
- Maintain required EPA, OSHA and GEPD, records and training programs.
- Monitor facilities management to ensure a safe and secure working environment and maintain compliance with OSHA standards.
- Assist with site worker's compensation administration and case management, which includes coordinating treatment and return to work for injured employees.
- Give direction to physical shop floor matters, including directing and maintaining health and safety programs in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Provide technical advice and knowledge to management and others within the EHS discipline.
- Continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies, practices, and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational issues of the organization.
- Perform all other EHS duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Safety, Environmental Management, Biotechnology, or a related field. Plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation including Quality Specialist, Quality Lead, or related experience. Position requires 5 years of experience with safety & environmental management. 40hrs/week.
