Estimator, Sales, Sales Engineer

Full Time, Hybrid (2-3 days onsite after training period)

Estimators utilize their technical knowledge and sales experience to help provide internal sales & support for the products represented by R.L. Deppmann.

Looking for someone that enjoys collaborating with contractor customers and internal RL Deppmann sales team members to provide the best solution for any given project. The successful candidate enjoys teaching as well as learning. They will seek out opportunities to collaborate and loves to solve problems using their technical skills.

• Thoroughly analyze plans and specifications to perform take-off of equipment
• Size and select equipment to meet schedule and specification requirements
• Use factory selection and pricing software to prepare quotation proposals
• Handle preliminary equipment budget selections and pricing
• Collaborate with outside sales staff to support corporate sales objectives
• Support and engage with all departments as required
• Technical
  • General understanding of HVAC systems, particularly hydronics
  • HVAC Product knowledge
    • Equipment components/functions/materials of construction
    • Installation practices
  • Able to compile equipment cut-sheets
  • Able to understand, navigate and embrace business systems as well as web-based factory selection software
• Occasional travel may be required
• Any other duties as assigned

Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Adobe PDF), technical background in HVAC (degree preferred), ability to multi-task and prioritize, strong desire to learn and take on responsibility, strategic planning skills, detail and deadline oriented, exceptional communicator.
