Job Summary
Entry-Level Interior Design Associate – responsible for assisting customers in selecting furniture and accessories, creating room layouts, supporting in-store events, and maintaining high levels of customer service and product knowledge.
Responsibilities- Assist customers in selecting furniture, décor, and accessories for their homes.
- Create room layouts and design suggestions based on customer needs and lifestyles.
- Stay up to date on furniture trends, fabrics, colors, and design styles.
- Work closely with the sales team to provide exceptional customer experiences.
- Support special design projects and in-store events.
- Drive sales by presenting customized room designs and product recommendations.
- Contribute to store sales goals through effective selling, customer service, and follow‑up.
- Promote the Design program and assist the Designer in achieving sales objectives.
- Maintain strong knowledge of product features and benefits for existing and new lines.
- Schedule professional home consultations and present customized designs, sample fabrics, and installation services.
- Use the company system (Podium, On‑Point) to document customer interactions and order information.
- Respond to incoming phone calls, emails, and customer issues, providing appropriate solutions.
- Assist in handling customer complaints and ensure a satisfied experience.
- Train, coach, and develop new peers on product knowledge and selling techniques.
- Enable a culture of sales and service by championing company guidelines.
- Maintain visual appearance of the store, including displays, accessories, catalogs, and overall cleanliness.
- Schedule deliveries and coordinate store opening and closing procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous selling experience and strong ability to close sales preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, persuasion, and negotiation abilities.
- Effective time‑management and ability to handle competing priorities.
- Team orientation and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Background and drug screen clearance required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
- Experience with design software.
- Background in design, retail, or customer service.

Compensation- Training period: $15 per hour for 2–6 weeks (no commission).
- Post‑training base pay: $11 per hour (varies by location).
- Commission: 2–6% on sales, uncapped.
- Average annual earnings potential after training: $45,000 – $65,000.
- Hours:
40 per week.
