Position OverviewThe Associate Dean of Medical Education supports and oversees the undergraduate medical education program at the School of Medicine. This role coordinates curricular, institutional, and resource allocation matters, partners with others to develop and implement innovative programs, and leads the Clinical Education longitudinal program, ensuring curriculum management, outcomes assessment, appropriate pedagogies, and faculty development.
Responsibilities- Serve as acting Vice Dean in curricular, institutional, and resource allocation matters when needed.
- Lead faculty and staff in implementing the clinical curriculum education program.
- Create strategic vision and goals for the Clinical Skills curriculum and overall curricular components with the Vice Dean.
- Oversee development, implementation, and enhancement of clinical education for the undergraduate medical education program.
- Participate in the curriculum management plan to ensure the School of Medicine meets intended outcomes.
- Work with the instructional design team and faculty to implement pedagogical methods that meet vision and goals.
- Lead and participate in leadership and oversight teams to ensure curriculum meets intended outcomes, including longitudinal integration across the curriculum.
- Oversee development and integration of a developmental and integrated medical school curriculum.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to coordinate curriculum development and implementation.
- Interface with faculty and staff to ensure student success in the curriculum.
- Participate in accreditation and licensure activities as assigned.
- Engage in other duties and projects as assigned.
- Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a medical education role.
- Expert knowledge in undergraduate medical education, including curriculum building, revision, pedagogies, outcomes assessment, faculty development, and management.
- Expertise in competency-based medical education and outcomes assessment.
- Experience with accreditation, including LCME, MSCHE, state and local agencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Experience working at a School of Medicine.
- Eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the state of New Jersey.
