Science Teacher

Classroom Teacher

The employee, Classroom Teacher, is responsible for instructional planning; management of behavior; delivery of instruction; and assessment of performance for all assigned students.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Demonstrating an understanding of the curriculum, subject content and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences.
• Planning using the Common Core Curriculum Standards (or as prescribed by the NJDOE), the school's curriculum, effective strategies, and resources and data to meet the needs of all students.
• Effectively engaging students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies in order to meet individual learning needs.
• Systematically gathering, analyzing, and using all relevant data to measure student academic progress, guide instructional content and delivery methods, and provide timely feedback to both students and parents throughout the school year.
• Using resources, routines, and procedures to provide a respectful, positive, safe, student-centered environment that is conducive to learning.
• Maintaining a commitment to professional ethics, communicating effectively, and taking responsibility for, and participating in, professional growth that results in enhanced student learning.

Reports To:

Principal, Director, or Supervisor

Required Qualifications:

• Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form 1-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
• Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the Department of Education.
• Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.
• Pass the state required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.

Competency:

• District application and resume.
• Required documentation outlined in the qualifications above.
• A minimum of three letters of reference from former employers, teachers, professors or other professional sources, or copies of recent evaluations of teaching performance.
• Official College Transcripts.
• Writing sample (as may be required).
• Employment interview.

Employment

Terms:

• Work year of ten months with days and calendar pursuant to contract.
• Salary or hourly/yearly wage, benefits, and leave time as negotiated.
• Conditions established by Laws and Codes of the State, and Policies, Rules and Regulations established by the Board of Education (N.J.S.A. 18A:27-4 et. seq.).

Salary: $65,535 - $106,350
