- Lead CNC machinist for a manufacturer of high-tech, precision components, primarily for the medical device industry.
- Primary responsibilities will include:.
- Technical performance and continuous improvement of CNC machining work centre.
- Machining MIM components and stand alone production of plastic and metal parts.
- Provide support for engineering and new product development initiatives.
- Develop innovative tooling and fixtures to improve process capability and manufacturing efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, machine utilisation, setup efficiency, tooling life, and overall manufacturing costs.
- 10+ years experience in CNC machining, CNC programming and CNC setup.
- Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling, and experience with CNC lathes.
- Experience machining carbon steels, stainless steels, engineering plastics, and various alloys.
- Proficiency with Mastercam with 3, 4, and 5-axis machining.
- Solid understanding / experience with GD&T and tolerance control.
