About The Role
Edwards Global Finance is committed to fueling business performance through innovative financial leadership - going beyond traditional roles of budgeting, reporting, and compliance to drive business transformation, growth, and resilience. This is anchored in four pillars:
Deliver accurate financial planning & reporting;
Drive EPS growth;
Establish process excellence; and Cultivate talent. This role sits at the heart of that mission. The FP&A Manager - Group Support plays a critical finance leadership role within Edwards Lifesciences' Europe region, a business of approximately $1.5B in annual sales. Acting as a senior finance partner to the Region CVP, Finance SVP, and FP&A Sr. Director, this role drives the consolidation, quality, and strategic relevance of financial planning, reporting, and analysis across Europe - and leads the broader EMEACLA regional consolidation spanning EEMEA, LATAM, and Canada.
Reporting to the Director, THV FP&A / Group Support / Europe, the role requires a finance professional who operates with a high degree of autonomy, brings senior stakeholder credibility, and connects financial data to business strategy. Regular interaction with divisional leadership and country FP&A teams makes cross-functional influence a core part of the position.
- Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis:
Own the Group Support FP&A cycle including AOP, latest estimates, and rolling forecasts. Go beyond data compilation - frame financial outcomes within a strategic narrative that enables senior leadership to act decisively. - Executive Reporting & Variance Analysis:
Lead the preparation of financial reviews for SVP and Sr. Director-level audiences. Explain variances and underlying business drivers in a way that informs decisions, not just records them. Anticipate questions before they are asked. - OPEX & CAPEX Oversight:
Drive budget discipline and forecast accuracy across divisional departments and cost centers. Proactively identify cost risks and opportunities, recommending corrective actions within planning cycles rather than after the fact. - EMEACLA Consolidation:
Lead the EMEACLA regional financial consolidation, coordinating with country FP&A organizations across EEMEA, LATAM, and Canada to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with corporate reporting requirements. Serve as the central coordination point for regional planning deadlines. - Senior Business Partnering:
Serve as a credible financial advisor to senior stakeholders across Finance, Business Operations, Strategy, Country Management, Public Affairs, Regulatory, and Communications. Translate complex financial data into clear recommendations that influence business outcomes. - Process & Systems Improvement:
Lead cross-divisional projects to enhance reporting quality, streamline planning processes, and implement financial tools and systems. Champion continuous improvement within the FP&A function. - Cross-Functional Coordination:
Work closely with Accounting, HR, Supply Chain, IT, and local FP&A teams to ensure integrated financial oversight and consistent execution of regional planning deadlines. - Ad-Hoc & Strategic Analysis:
Deliver high-impact ad-hoc analysis on financial performance, cost structures, and investment levels, providing insights that support both short-term decisions and longer-term strategic planning.
- Education:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or professional qualification (CPA, CIMA, ACCA) is a plus. - Experience:
8-10 years of progressive FP&A or Financial Controlling experience in multinational environments, ideally within medical device, pharmaceutical, or product manufacturing industries. Prior exposure to regional or multi-country finance scope is strongly preferred. - Executive Presence & Communication:
Proven ability to present financial topics confidently to SVP and Sr. Director-level audiences, balancing strategic overview with the ability to go into detail when needed. Clear, concise, and structured in both written and verbal communication. - Strategic Mindset:
Ability to connect financial analysis to business strategy and proactively surface insights, risks, and recommendations - not just respond to requests. Comfortable advising senior stakeholders and challenging assumptions constructively. - Stakeholder Influence:
Strong interpersonal and business partnering skills, with the ability to build credibility and drive alignment across geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams without direct authority. - Analytical Rigor:
High attention to detail with the ability to synthesize large, complex datasets into concise, decision-ready insights. Acts as a subject matter expert within the FP&A function. - Adaptability & Autonomy:
Operates effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with a high degree of self-direction, prioritization, and independent judgment. - Technical Proficiency:
