Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in O'Fallon, Missouri. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in financial processes, including month-end close, reconciliations, and ledger management. Responsibilities:

- Oversee and execute month-end closing procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are precise and up to date.

- Prepare and post journal entries while adhering to accounting standards.

- Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

- Handle bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between records and transactions.

- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and reporting.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.

- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.

- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and resolving queries.

- Provide support and guidance to entry-level accounting staff as needed. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting roles, with a focus on month-end close and reconciliations.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation.

- Proficiency in handling account and bank reconciliations.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract role.

- Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
