Senior Product Manager - Technical
OverviewThe Mastercard Settings team seeks a Senior Product Manager – Technical to drive customer experience strategy, innovate, and problem‑solve for customer test cases. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer journey, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. Extensive knowledge of Mastercard payment transactions and experience creating quality test scenarios for customers is required.
Key Responsibilities- Elicit and decompose business requirements into platform requirements and user stories.
- Coordinate internal forums to collect and identify feature‑level development opportunities.
- Contribute quarterly input for the product portfolio and roadmap, prioritize the backlog, and define acceptance criteria for user stories.
- Recommend trade‑off decisions on platform product features, depth, and backlog items.
- Use runtime metrics of services as feedback into the backlog, balancing priorities against new feature requests.
- Own and manage product documentation, ensuring features and associated documentation are clear and consumable by engineering teams.
- Enable self‑service support and reduce overhead where possible.
- Apply research, user studies, metrics, and competitive analysis to inform the backlog and understand platform and business needs.
- Participate in customer research to define platform product feature needs.
- Coordinate with interdependent teams on product requirements.
- Maintain close alignment with user experience design.
- Monitor feature development, adjust throughout implementation as needed, and review product demos against acceptance criteria.
- Prepare launches and monitor platform performance, adoption, and operational health for feature sets.
- Support and participate in post‑launch reviews, ensuring feedback is reincorporated.
- Stay aligned with GTM plans for the feature set.
- Identify issues that could delay platform delivery and work with internal teams to classify and prioritize customer issues.
- Mentor team members.
- Assist with candidate selection and onboarding.
- Proven experience with payments messages (ISO 8583/20022).
- Experience testing Mastercard online messages at customer or processor level.
- Good knowledge of Mastercard products and services.
- Very detail‑oriented and analytical.
- Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of accessed information.
- Report suspected information‑security violations or breaches.
- Complete periodic mandatory security trainings per Mastercard guidelines.

Compensation and BenefitsAssuming the job is performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for annual bonuses or commissions. Salary can range from $104,000 to $177,000 USD (O’Fallon, Missouri). Benefits include health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; flexible spending and health savings accounts; paid leaves, including parental leave; paid sick and vacation days;
holidays; 401(k) with company match; and additional benefits such as fitness reimbursement and tuition reimbursement.
