Operations Management
Blue Sage Management Group is a dentist-founded management organization supporting a growing group of pediatric dental practices across the greater St. Louis area, operating under the Little Smiles and Gateway Little Smiles brands. Founded by practicing pediatric dentists, Blue Sage was built on a simple belief: practices run better when the people leading them still understand what happens chairside.
We provide the operational, financial, and administrative infrastructure that allows our clinical teams to focus on what matters most — delivering exceptional, kid-friendly dental care. Our mission is to find the potential in people and help them grow, guided by our core values of integrity, innovation, accountability, action, communication, clarity, teamwork, and trust.
OverviewThe Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day performance of multiple pediatric dental locations across our Missouri and Illinois footprint. This role bridges strategy and execution — translating company-wide goals into consistent, high-performing operations at the practice level, while developing and supporting the Practice Managers who run each location.
This is a highly visible role for someone who thrives on variety, moves easily between locations, and genuinely enjoys coaching people to do their best work.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations across an assigned group of pediatric dental practices, ensuring consistency in patient experience, workflow, and performance standards
- Directly manage, coach, and develop Practice Managers at each location, holding them accountable to clear expectations and helping them grow into stronger leaders
- Monitor key operational and financial metrics (production, collections, scheduling efficiency, staffing, patient satisfaction) across your region and drive corrective action where needed
- Partner with clinical leadership to ensure providers have the support, staffing, and systems they need to deliver excellent care
- Lead the rollout of new initiatives, systems, and process improvements across your practices, ensuring consistent adoption
- Support hiring, onboarding, and staff development in partnership with Practice Managers and HR
- Identify operational gaps or risks early and bring solutions — not just problems — to leadership
- Travel regularly between practice locations within your region
- Proven experience managing multi-site operations, ideally in a dental, medical, or other healthcare services environment
- A track record of developing and holding managers accountable while still being someone people want to work for
- Strong grasp of practice-level financial and operational metrics, and comfort digging into the numbers to find the story behind them
- Excellent communication skills — equally comfortable coaching a Practice Manager, presenting to leadership, and problem-solving with a provider
- A bias toward action: you notice what's not working and fix it, rather than waiting to be told
- Ability to travel regularly across the St. Louis metro area (and occasionally into Illinois)
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience in multi-site healthcare or dental operations will be strongly considered
- Join a founder-led, dentist-guided organization where leadership still understands life on the clinic floor
- Real influence — this role shapes how multiple practices run, not just one
- A culture built around clear values and genuine investment in people's growth
- Competitive compensation, benefits, and the chance to grow with a company in an active growth phase
