When you join Design Group as a Buyer II, you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world’s leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our AEC Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.
** What You’ll Do
** You'll work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.
* Assist project managers in early project planning including bidder selection and gathering budgetary quotations
* New supplier and subcontractor qualification and setup
* Uphold strong ethical standards and generally accepted procurement practices
* Define and implement data driven strategies to mitigate risk, reduce spending, improve cash flows, and optimize the firm's financial performance
* Support client trust initiatives for procurement activities within projects
* Maintain strong working relationships with the Design Group team, clients, and outside vendors/contractors
* Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs to qualified suppliers including working with other functional groups to gather all required documents and data
* Determine and maintain bid schedules in accordance with project schedules
* Prepare commercial bid comparisons and supporting terms to establish solid recommendations for purchase order or contract award
* Prepare requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with negotiated terms and agreements, with appropriate technical and fiduciary approvals
* Facilitate Kickoff Meetings and maintain open communication between suppliers and project teams
* Monitor vendor compliance with contract terms and project requirements
* Work with suppliers to resolve issues impacting things such as performance, schedule, quality, and invoice discrepancies; and drive corrective actions where needed
* Escalate, any significant issues that require intervention or awareness
