Position Overview
The Manager, Payroll is responsible for leading all payroll-related activities, partnering closely with the M&A COE, regional Payroll Operations teams, P&C, Finance, Tax, Workday Technology, and external vendors to ensure seamless employee transitions and payroll continuity throughout the M&A lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Payroll Operations & Systems Integration- Lead payroll execution of workstream activities
- Oversee payroll implementation, testing, and stabilization activities to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery for all new mergers, acquisitions and divestitures
- Partner with Workday Product & Engineering team, Payroll Operations, M&A COE and external providers to ensure successful technical implementation.
- Ensure payroll integrations comply with local, state, federal, and international regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness throughout integration activities.
- Identify and mitigate payroll compliance risks associated with acquisitions and divestitures.
- Partner with M&A COE to maintain payroll integration playbooks, templates, and best practices.
- Incorporate lessons learned into future integrations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline integration activities and improve scalability.
- Deep knowledge of multi-country payroll operations, compliance, and controls.
- Experience working with HRIS and payroll platforms (Workday, ADP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience leading payroll integrations during acquisitions or divestitures.
- Experience working in a shared services or global business services organization.
- Knowledge of payroll tax, mobility, equity, and international payroll practices.
