Job Summary
The Campus Minister serves as a spiritual leader within the Catholic high school community by fostering the faith development of students, faculty, and staff. The Campus Minister promotes the mission of Catholic education through prayer, liturgy, retreats, service opportunities, pastoral care, and programs that encourage students to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead campus ministry programs that support the spiritual formation of students
- Plan and organize school liturgies, prayer services, reconciliation services, and other faith-based events
- Coordinate and facilitate student retreats, faith formation activities, and leadership programs
- Encourage student participation in service projects, outreach opportunities, and Catholic social teaching initiatives
- Provide pastoral support and spiritual guidance to students, faculty, and families as appropriate
- Collaborate with theology teachers, administration, faculty, parish staff, and local clergy
- Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and faith-filled school culture rooted in Catholic values
- Assist students in developing leadership skills through peer ministry and campus ministry involvement
- Support sacramental preparation and opportunities for student participation in the life of the Church
- Maintain communication with parents and the school community regarding campus ministry activities and events
- Coordinate service hour programs and maintain related records as required
- Participate in school activities, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities
- Model Christian discipleship, professionalism, and respect in all interactions
- Follow all diocesan, school, health, safety, and child protection policies and procedures
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in theology, religious studies, pastoral ministry, education, or related field preferred
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
- Knowledge of Catholic teachings, traditions, liturgy, and prayer practices
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, faculty, parents, and parish communities
- Commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education
- Completion of required background checks and safe environment training
