• Be a Certified Teacher.
• Or, have completed at least 36 college credit hours and hold or will obtain a Substitute Certificate from DESE. Upon hire, links and instructions will be supplied.
• Or, in lieu of 36 credit hours, register and complete the 20 hours of online training to be a substitute teacher available through Frontline Education. Training is available at

• Delivering group and/or individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines.
• Manage student behavior to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Model conversation, manners, cleanup activities, listening skills, and appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
• Monitor students in a variety of educational environments (classroom, playground, field trips, etc.) to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
• Organize age‑appropriate indoor and outdoor activities to ensure student participation in learning activities.
• Report incidents (e.g., fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse) to maintain personal safety of students and adhere to Education Code and school policies.
• Respond to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns and/or direct to appropriate personnel.
• Work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Job related experience is highly recommended.

Minimum 36 credit hours or approved 20‑hour online training course.

Certificates/Licenses:
Missouri State Teaching Certificate or Missouri Substitute Certificate.

Clearances:
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance and Family Care Safety Registry.

Substitute Teacher:
As needed/called by the district.

Daily Rate: $150 per day.
