Job SummaryTo provide behavioral support to students, implement and monitor behavior intervention plans, and offer guidance to staff to improve student behavior and social-emotional skills.
Key Responsibilities- Student Support:
- Provide behavioral support and intervention for students.
- Implement and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans.
- Offer one-on-one or small group support for behavior issues.
- Respond to and manage crisis situations involving students.
- Teacher & Staff
Coaching:- Coach teachers on behavior management strategies.
- Train staff in behavior intervention techniques and safety practices.
- Behavior Management:
- Supervise students during transitions and daily activities.
- Guide students in developing interpersonal skills and problem-solving strategies.
- Maintain and track records of student behavior and progress.
- Collaborate with behavior intervention teams and participate in Student of Concern (SOC) meetings.
- Adhere to health, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
- Manage reporting of child abuse and neglect cases.
- Additional Duties:
- Participate in workshops and meetings to stay updated on best practices.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Education: Relevant job-related education or 60 hours of college credit.
- Experience: Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is preferred.
- Skills: Data tracking, behavior intervention, de-escalation techniques, and record-keeping.
- Knowledge: Child development, behavior management, safety procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Abilities: Manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, solve problems, and work with diverse individuals.
