Job Goal: To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation.

  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the designated locations and times.
  • Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the resources provided by the district.
  • Prepare for classes assigned and provide written evidence of preparation upon request of the principal.
  • Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs of the students or groups.
  • Implement the district’s philosophy of education, instructional goals and objectives through instruction and action.
  • Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Evaluate student progress on a regular basis.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy.
  • Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies.
  • Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside instructional hours when required or requested under reasonable terms.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings.
  • Cooperate with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  • Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
  • Share responsibility for co‑curricular activities as assigned.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relations with others.
  • Engage in ongoing professional growth through reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and advanced coursework.
  • Terms of Employment: Salary and work year according to the current salary schedule and the Professional Agreement. Days employed beyond the established calendar will be paid at the regular daily rate.

    Evaluation: Performance reviewed annually per the Board's policy.
