Position SummaryTeachers are responsible for providing direct instruction to 8th‑grade students in mathematics and maintaining an environment conducive to learning. They support students’ intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and help them reach their full potential.
Qualifications- Hold an appropriate Missouri teacher’s certificate.
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the designated locations and times.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment that promotes effective learning, using district resources.
- Create and implement standards‑aligned lesson plans that incorporate evidence‑based instructional practices and district guidelines, and maintain documentation for administrative review.
- Foster a positive classroom culture by establishing behavioral expectations and standards with students.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques, including personalized learning pathways and educational technology, to meet diverse student needs, learning styles, and capabilities.
- Implement comprehensive safety protocols to protect students, secure data, and steward district resources and facilities.
- Evaluate student progress and report according to district timelines for progress reports and report cards.
- Use data‑driven assessment strategies—including formative and summative approaches—to track progress, analyze performance metrics, provide feedback, and adjust instruction.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies.
- Be available to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside instructional hours when reasonable and requested.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning communities, and collaborative team planning.
- Contribute to grade‑level, subject‑area, and cross‑curricular teams and committees to develop integrated learning experiences aligned with district initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design coherent instructional frameworks, including vertical alignment of curriculum and cross‑disciplinary connections.
- Participate in evaluating and selecting instructional materials, digital resources, and educational technologies that support Missouri Learning Standards.
- Build positive relationships with all educational stakeholders, including community partners and industry connections.
- Maintain open lines of communication with students and families regarding academic and behavioral progress.
- Support professional growth through reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and advanced coursework.
- Participate as a member of student support teams (IEP, 504, MTSS).
- Implement individualized educational plans with appropriate accommodations and assistive technologies.
- Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassment per Board policy.
- Participate in district trainings on safety protocols, crisis response, and emergency management.
Salary and work year will follow the current teacher salary schedule and the Professional Agreement. Days in excess of the established schedule will be paid at the regular daily rate.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s professional personnel evaluation policy.
