Job Description Title: Teacher

Reports To: Principal
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Goal: To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation.
Performance Responsibilities
Meet and instruct assigned classes at the designated times and locations.Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the district's resources.Prepare for classes and submit written evidence of preparation when requested by the principal.Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media aligned with location limitations and student needs.Implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals by instruction and action.Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Evaluate student progress regularly.Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy.Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies.Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside instructional hours under reasonable terms.Attend and participate in faculty meetings.Collaborate with staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.Accept a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned.Communicate effectively with students and parents about academic and behavioral progress.Build cooperative relationships with others.Engage in continuous professional growth through reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework at institutions of higher learning.Terms of Employment
Salary and work year shall follow the current salary schedule and Professional Agreement. Days worked beyond the established calendar are payable at the employee's regular daily rate.
Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
