Direct the Manufacturing Engineering activities involving metals, composites, and aerospace hardware.
Manage Outsourced and Contract Engineering Services.
Perform engineering support allocation and manpower analysis, vacation scheduling and other administrative duties.
Manage the ME’s who plan sequences of operations, estimate processing time, and write process sheets and bill of materials.
Determine from part drawings and engineering data the manufacturing methods and processes necessary for fabrication and assembly of complex products.
Investigate, establish, and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, and material, including make-or-buy decisions and facility layout for new or revised products.
Investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing problems.
Provide technical support to operations.
Consult with CIPT or customer engineering concerning the suitability or producibility of parts.
Maintain and provide ISO
9001/AS9000 documentation support.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or related field with 12 years of experience; or an advanced degree with 10 years of experience. U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred: PhD or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics.
Able to interpret manufacturing drawings and blueprints; in-depth knowledge of design concepts involving composites, metals, and aerospace hardware; understanding of composite or bonding tool design.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or continuous improvement programs (ACE, 6s, etc.).
Participation in or training in Design to Cost philosophy.
BenefitsSalary range: $157,200 - $298,800 USD.
